　　年轻的乔治安娜（朱丽娅·斯蒂尔斯 Julia Stiles 饰）嫁给了意大利富豪克里奥斯（安东尼·拉帕格利亚 Anthony LaPaglia 饰），这段婚姻刚刚持续一年，克里奥斯便在一场意外中丧生。悲痛之中，乔治安娜渐渐开始怀疑丈夫的死是一宗蓄意谋杀，坚强的她决定开始调查事件的真相。
