　　在这部连续剧，韩国摇身一变成了一个君主立宪制国家。近来，因为皇帝身体越来越差，为了完成父王的愿望，高中生皇太子李信（朱智勋 饰）答应了太后会尽快和之前订下婚约的女子结婚。其实李信之前瞒着其他人和女孩孝琳已经秘密来往了一段时间，当他向孝琳求婚时，孝琳断然拒绝了他。虽然李信痛失爱侣，但想到孝琳不用在宫中变成失去自我、任人控制的木偶，他还是感到了一丝欣慰。
